On Friday, August 14, 2009, an engine fire in the local Red Cross Chapter's Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) totally detroyed the vehicle.
Organized by the No Name Diner, there will be a Disaster Response Vehicle fundraiser on Sunday, November 29th, 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at VFW Post #3146 (Mattydale), 2000 Lemoyne Ave. (corner of Lemoyne Ave & Factory Ave).
Tickets - $15 Adult, $5 Child 6-12yrs., $35 Family of 4
There will be entertainment, food, beverage, raffles, and a silent auction items graciously donated from local businesses and citizens.

The new vehicle will be a different layout, providing a more comfortable refuge for disaster clients and a more efficient work space for Red Cross personnel. The new vehicle will also do double duty as a mobile command center for Red Cross operations during larger community-wide disasters.
